RECS Energy Certificate Association (RECS) is dedicated to tackling climate change by accelerating the transition to 100% renewable energy systems. We do this by supporting the development of new energy attribute certificate (EAC) markets and strengthening those already in place. RECS collaborates with its members and other like-minded organisations to achieve these goals.

RECS / ERGAR Union Database 101 webinar
From 21 November this year, the Union Database for Biofuels (UDB) will become mandatory for the gas sector. This will change the way sustainable biomethane with a Proof of Sustainability is traded. Therefore, the European Renewable Gas Registry (ERGaR) and RECS Energy Certificate Association will jointly organise an online webinar to explain the basics of this new EU tool. We will explain the key concept of the UDB and its impact on the biomethane certification market. The practical implications and implementation of the UDB will be explained in detail. Additionally, the webinar aims to provide greater understanding of current certification and cross-border trading practices for biomethane. The webinar will take place online on 25 September 2024 from 15:00 to 16:00 (CET) and is open to all members of the RECS Energy Certificate Association and ERGaR interested in learning more about the biomethane market and cross-border trading/transfer. Participation is free of charge and registration is possible until 24 September.
