The I-REC Standard has announced an Advisory Group meeting on March 14, 2018 from 15:00 - 16:00 at the Krasnapolsky Hotel in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The Advisory Group meeting will take place after the REC Market Meeting conference. To learn more go to the I-REC Standard news item here.

RECS International is pleased to welcome a new member: Gaia Environment from Singapore.

On 8 February 2018 the I-REC Standard is organizing a seminar "Los Certificados de Energía Renovable y Acción Empresarial para el Cambio Climático" (Renewable energy certificates and business action for climate change). The seminar will be held in Bogotá, Colombia.  The seminar offers an introduction to energy attribute certificates (EACs) and market overview for Latin America, as well as expert insights from market players in the region. Over the last months the international ISO Standard has been working on a specification for principles, requirements and guidelines for quantifying and reporting the carbon footprint of products. Initial draft versions of the ISO 14067 standard guidelines proposed an objection to the market-based framework (ie. reporting through tracking mechanisms such as the Guarantee of Origin) for purchased electricity. This would have resulted in conflicting guidance to other well known existing standard frameworks, notably the Greenhouse  Gas Protocol Scope 2 Guidance.
