RECS International has published its annual report for 2017. 

In June the EU Commission, Parliament and Council have come to a provisory agreement on Europe’s renewable path toward 2030. 

On 20 September 2018 RECS International and the AIB are jointly organizing the Open Markets Committee (OMC) in Madrid, Spain. On 21 September RECS International is organizing the RECS General Meeting (GM), which is intended for its members to get up to speed with the latest developments in the EAC market. Members are asked to influence the discussions and provide their input.

The CertifHy consortium and working groups are launching the pilot phase for the first EU-wide Guarantee of Origin for hydrogen. Market parties may now  create an account on the CertifHy GO registry and soon start purchasing, trading and cancelling H2-GOs issued by 4 pilot producers. More and more non-energy companies are voluntarily – and actively – procuring or investing in self-generation of renewable energy. Driven by sharp cost reductions, combined with growing calls for sustainability among investors and consumers, renewables have become an attractive source of energy for corporate users around the world.  A new report from the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) highlights the latest trends and provides recommendations to more fully exploit such potential.  The report can be found here.

The Association of Issuing Bodies (AIB) has published the Residual Mixes and European Attribute Mix of 2017. The calculation was carried out by Grexel Systems Ltd, assisted by Ostfoldforskning and Ecoinvent.

As of May 25 2018 the EU is implementing a data protection reform through the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The GDPR will bring several improvements to deal with data protection violations in the future.
