Energy Attribute Certificates (EACs) are commonly developed in electricity markets which are embedded within conflict-free areas with safe political and societal structures. That is not to say that conflict regions generally would not benefit from market-oriented financial solutions. Energy Peace Partners (EPP) is a non-profit organization which aims to bring renewable energy markets to regions in the world where a natural development of EAC markets may be less evident due to conflict and related issues.

Oslo Economics, a Norwegian consultancy who offer  analyses and advice for government and public and private companies in the power market area, has published the report “Study on Guarantees of Origin” by commission of the Norwegian Ministery of Petroleum and Energy.  

After a succesful REC Market Meeting in March 2018, RECS International has now commenced the organization of the 9th edition of the REC Market Meeting 2019. The event attracts hundreds of professionals from renewable energy markets around the globe to network and share their expertise. This year the role of market actors in developing renewable energy markets will highlighted. The event will be held on 12 and 13 March 2019 at the NH Collections Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky in Amsterdam.

RECS International is pleased to welcome a new member: On Power from Iceland.

On 20 September 2018 the Open Markets Committee took place in Madrid, a jointly event organized by RECS International and the Association of Issuing Bodies (AIB). This 11th edition of the event, which welcomes members from both organizations to discuss developments in the markets for Guarantees of Origin, was well attended. Presentations and the attendance list can be downloaded below. 

As in previous years, RECS International is collaborating with the the RE-Source platform for the event taking place in Amsterdam on 2 and 3 October 2019. The RE-Source event gathers leading experts to discuss the latest trends in PPAs and the corporate sourcing of renewable energy.

RECS International has signed the joint statement to keep EU energy and emissions markets protected from VAT fraud beyond 2018.

RECS International is welcoming input for the REC Market Meeting in 2019. This 9th edition will take place at NH Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky Amsterdam, the Netherlands on 12 and 13 March. This year´s theme: Markets driving growth in renewables.
