GO’s and other attribute tracking certificates are well established within European and U.S. electricity markets and are increasingly developing world wide. RECS International believes it is important to bring the focus to consumers adhering to best practice standards. For this reason RECS International is going to revive RECS Good Practice as a way to encourage transparency in product procurement.
Within the next month RECS International will be starting a Working Group around Consumer Claim Standards, focusing on the future developments of RECS Good Practice.
Internationally recognised consumer claims are a necessary development for the renewables market and the revival of RECS Good Practice is intended to serve this need. The goal should be to find common denominators and to support consumers in finding reliable procurement options around the globe.
