The French Energy Ombudsman has proposed a new law on the comparison of different energy offers by consumers, with the objective of bringing more transparency to electricity offers containing a share of renewable energy.
RECS International member, QuiEstVert, applauds this effort because consumers in France need this transparency in order to support the energy transition.
Nevertheless, QuiEstVert finds the current proposal disappointing because it does not oblige electricity suppliers to be more transparent about their energy mix and is, therefore, not proposing changes that will really bring transparency to French consumers. QuiEstVert’s detailed analysis and counter-proposals can be seen here (in French).
