RECS International has worked with different international and Swiss stakeholders to try to secure a technical agreement between the EU and Switzerland on the mutual recognition of GOs between the two parties, as stipulated in RED II Art. 19.11.

The Association of Issuing Bodies (AIB), the umbrella organization of EECS-GO issuers and holders of the EECS Standard, are welcoming their newest member: REN, representing the Domain of Portugal.

The process of revising European standard CEN EN 16325 continues, with the focus on key issues such as certification of electricity produced and consumed by the same organisation, the potential for a field on GOs stating the GHG emissions related to a given MWh of energy, and rules for the transfer and cancellation of GOs by and on behalf of consumers.
