The renewables company Eviny Group is one of Norway’s largest energy and technology companies. We work with future solutions for power production and distribution of green and climate-friendly energy, and to make it possible to use clean, renewable energy everywhere. We combine climate responsibility with profitable business.
Eviny is formerly known as Bergenhalvøens Kommunale Kraftselskap (BKK) and was established June 2nd 1920. The first power production started at Dale in Vaksdal November 17th 1927. Eviny Fornybar AS (former BKK Produksjon) operate 39 hydropower plants spread over several waterways in Western Norway. Normal annual power production is 7.7 TWh. Eviny Group is owned by Statkraft, Bergen Municipality and several other municipalities and power companies in Vestland county. Eviny Group fully owns Eviny Fornybar AS.
In 2021, BKK became Eviny, and the name is not accidental – “EVIg” (eternal) was chosen because we have been producing power for more than 100 years and “NY” (new) because we are innovative, renewable and forward-looking.
