Florence School of Regulation work on GOs

The Florence School of Regulation, a centre of excellence working to improve the quality of European regulation and policy, has published the report “Upgrading Guarantees of Origin to Promote the Achievement of the EU Renewable Energy Target at Least Cost”.

The report was created for the European Commission DG Energy and reflects some of the most ambitious viewpoints of RECS International on the topics of:

  • full disclosure
  • the role of GOs in EU renewable energy targets
  • the implementation of a compliance market
  • market boundaries
  • alignment with the EU-ETS scheme
  • a single EU registry for trading and cancelling GOs

The RECS International Secretariat encourages its members to read this report. It can be downloaded here.
