How RECS builds stronger markets through its leading events

As part of this mission, RECS launched the REC Market Meeting and National GO Day events: The RECS Market Meeting and National GO Days.

Since its founding in 2001, the RECS Energy Certificate Association (RECS) has been at the forefront of developing transparent, consumer-driven renewable energy markets. As part of this mission, RECS launched the REC Market Meeting and National GO Day events: flagship gatherings designed to accelerate the global energy transition through collaboration, education, and policy development centred on Energy Attribute Certificates (EACs).

The first National GO (Guarantees of Origin) Day events were introduced as a platform for energy market participants to explore best practices in the issuance, trade, and cancellation of Guarantees of Origin. These events quickly evolved into a critical meeting point for system operators, regulators, suppliers, corporate buyers, and environmental advocates across Europe.

The RECS Market Meeting, first held in 2011, has grown into the leading global conference on the use, development, and impact of renewable energy attribute tracking systems. Hosted annually by RECS, the event brings together hundreds of international stakeholders from policymakers and system developers to large corporate buyers and sustainability professionals. Its mission is to foster robust and trustworthy EAC markets by facilitating dialogue across borders, sectors, and technologies.

Together, National GO Days and the RECS Market Meeting reflect RECS’ commitment to the transition toward renewables and consumer empowerment. These regular gatherings offer stakeholders the tools and insight needed to drive demand for renewables and ensure the effectiveness of EAC markets across Europe and beyond. Through these events, RECS continues to foster a global network of professionals dedicated to advancing transparent, reliable systems that support climate action and meaningful emissions reductions.
