RECS members interested in contributing to our benchmarking of EAC registries are welcome to join the new EAC User Insights & Registry Improvements Working Group!
EAC User Insights & Registry Improvements WG has the aim of producing a league table to benchmark the functioning of different AIB member registries. The league table and accompanying text aims to provide our membership, the AIB, and potentially the European Commission with a clearer understanding of user experiences and the current state of GO registries across Europe by compiling both factual comparisons and user perspectives.
The working group will focus on two key areas:
- An objective review of AIB Domain Protocols to compare concrete registry rules and procedures, such as who can hold an account, market access conditions, and operational frameworks.
- A user survey to gather insights from RECS members on practical challenges, including issuance delays, usability, and efficiency of national registries.
By providing transparency on national registry operations, we aim to inform the market, respond to frequent stakeholder inquiries, and encourage greater harmonisation and improvements within the AIB. While we acknowledge that a comparative assessment naturally highlights differences between registries, but we will ensure the approach remains as objective and constructive as possible.
