One of the first acts of the current European Commission was to adopt the European Green Deal. The European Council recently decided to increase the bloc’s 2030 emissions reduction target. As a result, key pieces of EU climate and energy law are being reviewed and, if necessary will be revised in order to support the delivery of this more ambitious goal. The revision of the RED-2 could lead to changes to Article 19 on Guarantees of Origin.
