RECS engaging with GHG Protocol and ISO developments

In addition to the legal and regulatory frameworks for energy attributes certificates (EACs) in different jurisdictions, voluntary standards and norms are crucial to maintaining efficient and effective renewable energy markets. One of the most important of these is the Greenhouse Gas Protocol’s Scope 2 guidance document (GHGP scope 2).

The protocol secretariat is set to start the process of assessing the need for additional guidance building on existing corporate standards. RECS is engaging with this process and representing the views of its members. The International Standards Organisation (ISO) is also starting the process of developing a general standard on book & claim schemes. RECS is also engaging with this on behalf of RECS members.

If you would like to contribute to RECS’s work on these initiatives, please contact the RECS Secretary General Adam White (a.white@recs.org).
