RECS International welcomes a new member: CerQlar

RECS International is pleased to welcome a new member: CerQlar.

CerQlar is an Amsterdam-based SaaS platform provider that focuses on increasing the efficiency in post-trade management and trade settlement process for renewable energy certificates. We started our operations and the platform development in 2020. We are planning to offer our commercial general audience release during Q1 of 2022.

CerQlar has been working together with several market participants across Europe in designing an industry-first settlement automation platform that streamlines core areas of the renewable energy certificate post-trade lifecycle spanning the following stages:

  • Counterparty onboarding
  • Trade capture
  • Risk management
  • Contracting (trade agreement creation and signing)
  • Position and portfolio management (certificate inventory and forward/spot obligations)
  • Certificate delivery
  • Invoicing and payments

CerQlar will initially integrate with registries, focusing on Guarantees of Origin. These connections are established via APIs (where available) or through flat-file upload of inventory kept at registries.

We will continue to advance our features in the coming months. Among other features, we will develop:

  • Position and portfolio management solutions
  • Reporting engine facilitating fuel mix disclosure reporting

Joining RECS International is an important step for CerQlar as we integrated the RECS International EECS GO Trade Agreement as the contact standard on our platform. We are looking forward to a close collaboration with RECS International. We believe that we are aligned in our core objective to advance global certificates markets and lower the barrier of entry for new participants.
